A Naples (Real Fabbrica Ferdinandea) dish from the service made for the Duchess of Parma
Circa 1790, indistinct incised mark
The centre painted with Venus scantily draped recumbent before a tearful Cupid on the seashore, a winged angel pointing out towards a galleon within a circular cartouche, the border moulded with shaped panels of gilt bryony divided by circular black and gilt moulded flower medallions within a beaded and gilt line rim (rim chipped)
10¾in. (27.5cm.) diam.
