Circa 1765, blue crowned interlaced C mark, iron-red painter's inverted S mark
Modelled as a man pulling the hair of a kneeling woman and another woman pulling his hair, another man sloping away, in coloured clothes about a table on a rectangular green and brown base (part of candlestick lacking)

Lot Essay

Cf. the example from the Ernesto F. Blohm Collection sold in these Rooms on 10 April 1989, lot 55; this group is lacking one figure. The group would appear to depict a father scolding his daughter for her unsuitable choice of lover.
