A Pair of Böttger hausmalerei teabowls and saucers Circa 1725, the decoration slightly later, Dreher's .. to footrims
Painted at Bayreuth in the workshop of Metzsch with Schwarzlot river landscapes with turretted buildings and trees within elaborate gilt trellis cartouches reserved with blue flowerheads and flanked by sprays of foliage and iron-red strapwork and surmounted by a blue vase of flowers, the flared teabowls with two parakeets perched on foliage scrolls flanking a group of fruit and flowers, the gilt line rims with pendant foliage scrolls (some minute rubbing to one saucer and minute flaking to reverse of one teabowl) (2)
