cover 1840 (30 Sep.), a209, addressed to India, bearing 1840 2d. plate 1, AE-BE vertical pair (AE with pre-printing paper creases) and DC-DE strip of three, margins all round (very large at places), neatly cancelled and tied in red, showing Bristol despatch backstamp, and having been redirected on arrival, with Bombay, Cawnpore and Agra markings alongside; crease at top clear of adhesives (folded back to its pre-use state) and traces of soiling but still fine and extremely rare.
