Lot Essay

The bracelet is by Louis Wièse (1852-1923) whose mark on the clasp 'Wièse' between two stars in lozenge punch was registered on 1 September 1890. See H. Tait (ed) 'The Art of the Jeweller', A Catalogue of the Hull Grundy Gift to the British Museum' 1984, vol.1, p.227.
