woodcut, 1920, on wove paper, a fine impression of this rare print, signed and dated in pencil, inscribed 'holzschnitt Portrait John', from the edition of only about ten, with margins, a very short tear in the lower right sleeve of the sitter, one or two other short tears at the sheet edges (some repaired), very pale, unobtrusive foxing mainly in the margins, traces of surface dirt, other minor defects, generally in very good condition
