Ten portraits of the Rulers of Oudh
Lucknow, circa 1850
On gold sprinkled buff paper, gouache heightened with gold on paper, each portrait within an oval cartouche on a pale blue ground, the rulers variously turbanned, moustached and jewelled, within gold and polychrome floral spandrels, a line of black nasta'liq below identifying the subject, short biographical note on verso, light staining, plus one title page of black nasta'liq contained within a star-shaped cartouche on gold and polychrome floral meander ground, and name of the artist Muhammad Nasir Dihlavi, framed and glazed
