This is a classical guide to good writing in the Arabic language; Part I ends with a chapter on diminutive nouns. There is detailed marginal commentary by Ibn al-Saiyyid (d. AH 734/1333-4 AD), drawing on earlier commentaries by al-Jawaliqi (d. 540/1145), al-Labli (d. 691/1292), and al-Damamini (d. 827/1424).
