Lot Essay

This deed of endowment concerns a succession of generations. The first person to make the document is possibly one al-Nasiri Muhammad b. Muhammad al-'Ulai 'Ali b. al-Saifi Balban b. 'Abd Allah, designated the Na'ib al-Sultana or Prince Regent in about AH 831/1427-8. The last document on the scroll is dated AH 960/1553 AD.
