Lot Essay

James George, 3rd Earl of Courtown (1765-1835) married Lady Mary, eldest daughter of Duke of Buccleuch in 1791. Sir Edward Stopford, G.C.B., K.T.S. (1766-1837) died unmarried. Sir Robert Stopford (1768-1847), Rear-Admiral of England and Governor of Greenwich Hospital, married Mary, daughter of Robert Fanshawe.
