Clemens Wenceslas (1739-1812), thirteenth child of Elector Frederick Augustus II of Saxony (King Augustus III of Poland), was a brother of Eulalia, Princess-Abbess of Remiremont (see lot 207). In 1768, he became Elector and Archbishop of Trier, Prince-Elector of Augsburg and Prince-Propst of Ellwangen. Due to the French Revolution, he was depossessed of his Trier Electorate and emigrated to Bavaria.
