A Meissen clock-case
19th Century, blue crossed swords mark
Modelled as a putto seated on drapery reading, a cockerel crowing at his side, on a rectangular base moulded with ropetwist borders between foliate terminals and on four spool feet, enriched overall in colours and gilt, the circular French movement striking on a bell and fronted by an enamel dial (chip to feather of cockerel's tail and chip to toe of putto, other slight chips to extremities)
