Many of the following pieces of silver are engraved with the crests of Webster, Lawson and Coke. In January 1907, Major The Hon. John Spencer Coke (K.C.V.O., 1953), 5th son of Thomas Coke, 2nd Earl of Leicester, married the Hon. Dorothy Olive Lawson Webster, the only child of Harry Lawson Webster, 1st Viscount Burnham of Hall Barn, Buckinghamshire. Viscount Burnham was the Principal Proprieter of The Daily Telegraph, which had been founded by his grandfather, and it is likely that some of the following pieces of silver were given as wedding presents to his daughter and the Hon. John Coke, who were the parents of Gerald Coke.
