2° (370 x 265mm). Steel-engraved proof title and 61 plates on india-paper, mounted, with a second suite of etched avant-lettre plates on india-paper, mounted, all after Batty. (Some spotting, occasionally heavy.) Contemporary green morocco gilt, g.e. (extremities very slightly scuffed).
FIRST EDITION, LARGE PAPER ISSUE. Lowndes notes that four issues of this work were published: three 4° issues at £7/4s, s and 18gns; and the present large paper issue at £25/4s. Lowndes p.2199.
