LOUIS XV (1710-74), King of France -- Le Sacre de Louis XV, Roy de France & de Navarre, dans l'Eglise de Reims, le dimanche XXV Octobre MDCCXXII. [Paris: 1723?].
Large broadsheets (620 x 463mm). 74 leaves, printed on one side only, versos blank, engraved throughout, each page within a decorative border, title within cartouche vignette, 8 half-page allegorical vignettes, 9 double-page plates of ceremonies and processions and 30 plates of court costume, by various artists, including d'Ulin, Cochin, Larmessin, Du Change, Tardieu, Beauvais, Desplaces, Depuis, etc., borders by Perrot. (Small marginal repair to title and nine other leaves, the second double-page plate with 230mm. neatly repaired tear from the lower margin into the image area, the third double-page plate a trifle soiled.) Early-20th century purple levant morocco, gilt turn-ins, by P.Ruban, dated 1901 (slight scuffing to extremities, small wormholes in leather of lower cover). Provenance: Coupérie (armorial bookplate).
