Describing the atmosphere created by Otto and Mäda Primavesi at their country house at Winkelsdorf, Sekler writes that it was ..'one of rustic informality; consequently one did not, for example, dress for dinner but wore a silk gown, specially designed for this purpose, made of hand printed material from the Wiener Werkstätte.' Völker, (op. cit.), describes how the Primavesis made extravagant use of Wiener Werkstätte textiles at the house, co-ordinating curtains, lampshades, bedspreads and wallpaper in each room, with guests receiving a 'kaftan-like' robe in the same pattern as their guest bedroom. (See lot 86).
