The French furnishings exhibited at the 1862 London International Exhibition encouraged the taste for flowered marquetry and 'Boulle' inlay, produced by firms such as Messrs. Jackson and Graham and Messrs. Holland & Sons. Patterns for related flower-inlaid furniture featured in Henry Lawford's, Cabinet of Marquetry, Buhl and Inlaid Wood, 1870.
