The stepped hinged cover with gadrooned edge, carved with scrolling foliage and winged cherub masks and surmounted by a cornucopia-blowing putto, above the cylindrical body carved in high relief with a continuous mythological scene depicting the figures of Diana the Huntress, Minerva and Neptune carrying off a maiden in a chariot drawn by hippocampi, with attendant nymphs and torch-bearing putti, with foliate-scrolling handle surmounted by a putto and carved with the figure of Hebe the Cup-bearer, on an oval gadrooned base carved with foliage and grotesque masks, minor losses
