Lot Essay

This charming group is representative of one the most popular themes of the late 19th Century. Boisseau was born at Varzy in 1842, and studied with Dumont and Bonnassieux at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, exhibiting frequently at the Paris salon from the 1870s.
