maker's mark of John Pittway and William Pittway, London, 1861 and 1862
Comprising four various oblong cut-glass boxes, two cylindrical jars, three bottles and a shaving brush in cylindrical container, each with silver cover engraved with flowers, shells and scrolls, and with vacant plain circular cartouche, fitted with seven steel and ivory manicure instruments, with lift-out tray and fitted jewellery drawer, all in gilt brass bound coromandel wood case, the hinged cover inset with plain oblong monogram engraved with the initials JW to JCM, the interior with toilet mirror and document wallet, marked on box and jar covers, bottle covers unmarked
