The blade honzukuri, iorimune, both sides with double grooves of hosobi and naginatahi throughout the blade, with large point (o-gissaki), slight koshi-zori, forged itame, tempered edge nakasugu ha [nibbled straight] with ko-maru boshi continued from midare, sunagashi and nijuba in the monouchi area to both sides, tang slightly suriage with three holes, 71.3cm.; encased in brown lacquer saya resembling bark with horn kurikata, koiguchi, Higo iron kojiri, cotton bound tsuka with Higo iron fuchi-kashira decorated with kiku and clouds in gold nunome zogan and shakudo menuki of horses, a heavy iron mokkogata tsuba carved with geese alighting beneath mountains, (small damage to koiguchi and saya), 18th/19th Century
