A silver-mounted Ottoman Kilij

With earlier finely watered curved single-edged blade of characteristic form (minor chip on one edge) double-edged towards the point, one side of the forte cut with a roundel containing a lion within a brass-inlaid circle, the hilt of characteristic form with rounded horn grip-scales, foliate engraved silver quillons with bud-shaped terminals, and silver grip-strap roughly engraved with foliage, in original black leather-covered wooden scabbard with deep silver locket and chape chased with scrolling foliage, the former with engraved silver mount carrying two rings for suspension, Cairo silver marks including Tughra mark
