Continental, late 18th century
With bright blade of hollow-triangular section, the forte etched and gilt against a blued ground with floral motifs and a martial trophy, blued iron hilt pierced and chiselled with trophies of arms in relief within borders of ropework, all picked out in gold against a stippled ground, and wooden grip bound with copper ribbon and twisted silver wire, in a leather scabbard with blued and gilt mounts and with two rings for suspension, the locket pierced with a design of flowerheads
