A rare German boar-sword (schwein-degen)
Early 16th Century
With straight slender blade of oblong section hollow-ground on the inner and outer face and struck with a maker's mark, later sprung cross-bar, swelling tip of flattened diamond section, iron hilt with straight quillons of round section swelling at the tips, pear-shaped pommel, and flattened corded grips swelling at the centre and covered with leather (incomplete)
