A German stonebow (Schnepper), and two Tyrolean hunting belts
The first early 17th Century, the second dated 1794 and 1800 respectively
The first of characteristic form (bow and back-sight missing), two fore-sight pillars, built-in gaffle (partly replaced) held by a spring-catch at the rear, angular iron trigger-guard of circular section, and lightly carved fruitwood butt decorated with punchwork and with a circular horn plaque on the cheek-piece; the belts each of a broad piece of leather decorated on the outside with pewter nails and rosettes forming panels of flowers and foliage interrupted by the datesb between borders of close-set lines, and with brass buckles
