A breast-plate, and a gauntlet for the left hand
the first circa 1570, probably German, the second late 16th Century, probably Italian
The first of peascod form with prominent knurled turn at the neck and moveable armhole gussets, at the top double embossed scrolls and applied pivot-hooks for shoulder-straps (missing), and, at the bottom a flange for the skirt (missing, minor patching and rust patinated overall); the second with recessed roped border, four metacarpal plates decorated with engraved lines, embossed and roped knuckle-plate (finger and thumb plates missing), and brass-headed lining-rivets
