The first by Francisco Antonio Aranguren, Plasencia, dated 1840
The first with shortened barrels signed in full in silver script, engraved patent breeches, engraved locks with external mainsprings, half-stock, chequered grip (worn and repaired), iron mounts (rear ramrod-pipe missing), and iron ramrod; the second with strongly belled three-stage barrel damascened with silver and gold, rounded lock with spurious inscription, full stock inlaid with tin wire, cast brass mounts, and iron saddle ring (ramrod missing); the third with strongly belled two-stage barrel inlaid with silver, engraved lock, full stock inlaid with brass and white bone, brass mounts, and wooden ramrod; the fourth with carved stock and cast brass mounts; the remainder each composite
