With fluted etched twist barrels, scroll engraved patent breeches, long tang engraved and chiselled with scrollwork and a grotesque mask, engraved and chiselled locks signed in gold and each decorated with a scene of the chase in relief, sprung pierced and chiselled nipple-guards, figured walnut half-stock carved in relief with flowers, foliage, a bird and a grotesque mask, the tip of the fore-end in the form of a monster's head with mother-of-pearl eyes, behind the cheek-piece a fox taking a pheasant in a wooded landscape, chequered grip and fore-end, scroll engraved iron butt-plate, scroll trigger-guard chiselled in relief with a dog attacking a vagabond and fitted with pierced ebony tang, iron sling mounts, white-metal ramrod-pipes, and original brass-mounted ramrod with reversable worm
