With rebrowned twist sighted barrel cut with seven grooves, short octagonal breech section, case-hardened octagonal patent breech with gold-lined touch-hole, border engraved case-hardened tang fitted with back-sight, signed case-hardened border engraved lock with semi-rainproof pan, roller, stepped tail, safety-catch and pierced cock (top jaw and screw replaced), walnut three-quarter stock of split pattern, brass mounts including patch-box cover engraved with the crest of the Earls of Rothes, cheek-piece, set trigger, and original iron ramrod
