The first with tapering multigroove rifled barrels (fore-sight missing), engraved patent breeches and tang, signed scroll engraved back-action locks, chequered figured walnut butt, and scroll engraved iron mounts including pommel with butt-trap and iron lanyard ring (ramrod missing); the second with scroll engraved tang and back-action locks (left mechanism incomplete), later butt, and engraved white-metal mounts
