A cased pair of 38-bore percussion belt pistols
signed Beckhuson, Oxford, mid-19th Century
With rifled browned twist octagonal sighted barrels each signed on the top flat, scroll engraved case-hardened breeches and tangs, signed scroll engraved case-hardened detented locks with engraved safety-catches (one hammer replaced, the other repaired), figured walnut half-stocks, chequered butts, scroll engraved blued steel trigger-guards, vacant silver escutcheons and barrel-bolt escutcheons, blued belt hooks, set triggers, horn fore-end caps, original brass-mounted ramrods, and much original finish: in original fitted mahogany case lined in plum velvet (minor damage, key-hole escutcheon missing) with some accessories, the lid with illustrated trade label, the exterior with flush-fitting carrying handle, London proof marks
