A cased pair of 28-bore flintlock duelling pistols

With browned twist octagonal sighted barrels each with case-hardened recessed patent breech with gold line, gold-lined maker's stamp, and platinum touch-hole, the underside of each barrel stamped with Irish registration number, engraved tangs each incorporating a back-sight, signed and engraved detented locks (top jaws and screws replaced) each with roller, engraved safety-catch and rainproof pan, figured walnut half-stocks, chequered butts, blued steel mounts including trigger-guards each engraved with a martial trophy and with pineapple finial, silver escutcheons engraved with a crest (engraving later), silver fore-end caps and barrel-bolt escutcheons, set triggers, original pewter-tipped ramrods, and traces of original finish: in later lined and fitted mahogany case with some accessories including flask and bullet mould, the lid with engraved armorial label, the exterior with oval white-metal escutcheon engraved en suite, Birmingham proof marks
