Signed L. Hall, Louth, No. 1774, early 1900s
The frosted gilt three-quarter plate movement jewelled to the centre with screwed chatons, free-sprung bimetallic balance with blued steel hairspring, ruby endstone and lever escapement on rotating carriage, the white enamel dial with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds, blued steel spade hands and Admiralty arrow mark, in plain openface case with hinged cuvette and gold hinges, the back engraved H.S.2 for the Hydrographic Survey Office, in two tier mahogany box with inner glazed brass observation box, movement, dial and deck box signed and numbered with Admiralty arrow
