The white enamel chapter disc with blue Roman chapters and blued steel trefoil hands, subsidiary alarm disc below and within a gilt engine-turned mask, the twin barrel movement with bimetallic balance with segmental heat compensation weights to the early platform lever escapement, strike/repeat/alarm on bell on backplate, the case finely cast in the architectural style with fluted Corinthian capped pilasters to the angles and with foliate decoration to the friezes, the engine-turned top with escapement viewing aperture and foliate cast handle with lion's head hinges, the sound-pierced base on bun feet, solid back with shutters for wind, hand-set and alarm and lever for strike/silent; original gold tooled travelling case
