The silvered dial signed CHARLES FRODSHAM, 7 Pavement, Finsbury Square, LONDON. No. 1622, Roman hour numerals, Arabic five minute intermarkers 60-5-10 et seque, all hands of blued steel, the hour and minute of Breguet style, within the subsidiary seconds dial the Government mark, small size movement (58 mm. diam.), the barrel bridge incised with the Government mark above 1622, Earnshaw escapmeent, cut bimetallic balance, segmental heat compensation weights, blued steel helical balance spring the top coil pinned to 'gallows' assembly, later spring foot detent with shortened locking stone, in brass drum dust cover with external cross springs to bottom, brass bowl with sprung assembly for locking arm, gimballed in three-tier brass-bound mahogany box, the middle section with inset rectangular bone plaque inscribed C. FRODSHAM 1622 and with the Government mark, external brass drop handles

This chronometer was onboard the S.S. Theodor. In 1917 R.G.O. Records show it was with the Customs Service at King's Lynn, Norfolk.
In 1918 it was take on charge by the Royal Observaotry, Greenwich and remained on their books until May 1931 when it was sold.
In 1918 it was in service onboard H.M. Tug Saucey.
