The case glazed on all four sides, the front door applied with gilt metal repoussé mounts, double gilt metal basket top surmounted by the handle composed of two addorsed caryatids, ball-and-spire finials to the four corners, the 7 in. sq. dial signed Henry Massy London on the silvered mock pendulum aperture within the gilt matted centre with calendar indication, silvered chapter ring with pierced blued hands, winged cherub spandrels, the six ringed pillar twin fusee movement now with anchor escapement, strike on bell, pull quarter repeat train and strike/silent lever removed, the similarly signed backplate engraved with inhabited foliage, secured with bolts into base pillars
