The break-arch dial with silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with pierced blued steel hands, the matted centre with decorated mock pendulum and calendar aperatures, foliate spandrels, foliate engraving in the arch flanked by subsidiary silvered rings for strike/silent and pendulum regulation, the silvered signature plaque above engraved Jno: Monkhouse, London, the large movement with six pillars and triple fusees [wire lines], verge escapement with rosette-engraved pendulum spring-suspended from a foliate-engraved regulation bar, quarter chiming on six bells with hour strike on further bell, the case painted with roses, forget-me-nots and other flowers within gilt trellis borders and on a green lacquer background, the caddy moulded top with foliate pierced giltwood soundfrets and surmounted by five gilt-brass flambeau urn finials, handles to the glazed sides flanked by gilt brass trailing floral caryatids, the concave-moulded base on bracket feet
