The brass dial with early form of pronounced arch engraved with the signature John Taylor, London in a downward curve above a ringed aperature with revolving silvered ring engraved with the Deities, the silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with sword-hilt half-hour markers, pierced blued steel hands, the matted centre with central silvered alarm disc with turning pins, foliate spandrels, the miniaturised five ringed pillar movement with twin gut fusees, strike and alarm on bell above with alarm pull wind cord to the side, the tall backplate profusely engraved with intricate scrolling foliate and central basket of flowers above the repeat signature John Taylor, London, the well-proportioned case with ring handle and ball-and-spire finials to the cushion-moulded top, foliate pierced wood soundfrets to the glazed sides and front door, the moulded base on block feet
