The 11½in. silvered regulator dial signed J.W. Benson, 25 Old Bond St. with blued steel hands, the massively constructed movement with large double-screwed pillars, end-capped wheel train with six crossings, the deadbeat escape of Vulliamy type with jewelled pallets, maintaining power, fine adjustment to the crutch piece to the steel rod pendulum spring-suspended from the backplate on a robust brass bracket, tghe mercury jar within a polished steel frame with a silvered calibrated rating nut, blued steel pointer below swinging against an engraved silvered beat scale, the case with its original mirrored backboard, the dial within a foliate carved wood surround, the right side of the case acting as a hinged door, the base with a rectangular fielded panel
