Contemporary English russia gilt, covers with fillet and crown roll-tool border, spine in six compartments with raised bands, blue morocco lettering-piece in one, the others with overall lattice-work made up of pointillé rolls with small stars or circles containing stars at each intersection, the uppermost with a lozenge-shaped panel left blank except for an elephant-crest tool (upper joint a little weak). Provenance: Brigg Fountaine (d.1830, great-nephew of Sir Andrew). (3)
