Provenance: one contemporary MS leaf inserted between c3-4 discussing prognostications; contemporary textual corrections.
Second edition of one of the chief astrological textbooks of the Middle Ages. Written in Arabic by the Syrian Alchabitius in 948/949, it deals with the planets and their phases and influences, the zodiac, auspicious signs and other information necessary to a full understanding of the subject. The present copy was owned by a contemporary close reader and student of astrology, as the inserted notes and textual corrections show.
