FRANCO, Giacomo (1550-1620). Habiti delle Donne Venetiane intagliate in rame nuouamente. [Venice: ca. 1610].

2° (289 x 205mm). Letterpress dedication to Fabio Glisenti, plate descriptions in Latin and Italian. 20 full-page numbered engraved plates, including title, ornamental initials. (Small hole and inner margin of title discreetly repaired, tear into text without loss repaired in dedication leaf, corner of same leaf restored, occasional light spotting, light highlighting added to dress on plate 18.) Contemporary limp vellum (one corner slightly worn, lacking ties).

A separate and rare Italian-Latin text edition depicting the elaborate costume of the upper classes in Venice. The plates are different from those in the similarly titled Habiti d'Huomini et Donne Veneziane, only with the engraved bird's-eye view of Venice and the Rialto bridge retained on the title. A good copy in a contemporary binding. Cicognara 1655; Colas 1106; Lipperheide Jba 5; Brunet II: 1378; Graesse II: 628; Vinet 2291 (Brunet, Graesse and Vinet cite only a Latin-French text edition).
