One of many editions of this enormously popular poetical romance of chivalry, also known under the title Innamoramento de Melone e Berta e come nacque Orlando et de sua pueritia. Sander 5217; Agnelli & Ravegnani II, p.185; Segarizzi, Stampe popolari, 88.

Opera nova de una novella perche si dice traditor della carne insalata che fu vn giouine nominato Iacinto ilquale ando a star a vna ice: Francesco de Tomaso di Salò, e compagni, [ca.1565]. 4° (188 x 136mm). 4 leaves. Title within a fine woodcut historiated border. (The four leaves skilfully inlaid with loss of a few letters.) Blue morocco by Lloyd, Wallis & Lloyd, gilt turn-in, g.e. Provenance: Charles Fairfax Murray (catalogue, 1397).

Probably the only edition of this very rare and entertaining poetical novella in ottava rima recounting the adventures of a young Italian man in Greece with a young and beautiful girl of fifteen and her fierce mother. (2)
