Lot Essay

This is page 11 from Carnet 96, a sketchbook of 24 drawings that Picasso completed when he was working on the literary review Arte Joven which he founded with his friend Francisco Soler in Madrid that year. Only four numbers were published and in May Picasso returned to Paris.
