A bracelet comprising thirteen Roman intaglios in a Nineteenth Century gold and enamel setting
1) Bloodstone: a horseman on groundline in profile between two columns surmounted by eagles, a standing cockerel facing outwards to far left and right, a wreath over the horseman's head, circa 2nd Century A.D.
2) Red cornelian: standing figure with drapery flowing out behind, holding a small object up in right hand, left hand with sword(?), 2nd-3rd Century A.D.
3) Rock crystal: ithypallic Pan or satyr confronting a leaping goat, a basket of fruit beneath the goat's raised front legs, a small branch in the field behind Pan, early Imperial Period
4) Dark amber glass paste: from behind a three-storey tower with tiled roof emerges the curved bow of a ship in which sits a small figure holding a tiller, 1st Century B.C./A.D.
5) Red cornelian: Tyche-Fortuna standing with cornucopia in her left arm, tiller in her right hand, 1st-2nd Century A.D.
6) Red cornelian: standing Athena with spear and shield in her left hand, a small winged Victory (Nike) in her outstretched right hand, 1st Century A.D.
7) Red cornelian: to the left two eagles perched on a cornucopia or rock and drum-shaped pedestal observing a large hound to the right eating a dead hare, a tree behind the hound, 1st-2nd Century A.D.
8) Chalcedony: Zeus, seated on a high-backed throne, holding sceptre in his raised left hand, an eagle at his feet, 2nd-early 3rd Century A.D.
9) Red cornelian: standing Mercury (Hermes), with small wings at his ankles, a mantle draped over his left arm, holding a caduceus in his left hand, leather purse in right hand, circa 1st Century B.C.
10) Red cornelian: under a slender tree to the right stands Herakles, naked, with right arm behind his back, his club held under his left arm, his lion pelt seen hanging behind him around his legs, to the left before him a rocky outcrop on which stands a small four-legged animal, probably a hind, 1st Century A.D.
11) Pale yellow paste: naked male figure holding out a club, Imperial period
12) Niccolo: young male portrait bust in profile (Octavian), with large eye, long nose, short curled hair and a small crown, sideburn with horn-shaped curl(?) above it, second half of 1st Century B.C.
13) Orange cornelian: two cockerels confronting one another, one with lowered head, standing on a groundline, 3rd Century A.D.
