AN IMPORTANT PAIR OF FAMILLE ROSE FISHBOWLS

Each enamelled at the interior with several goldfish amongst water-reeds and lotus below the everted rim decorated with six panels enclosing landscapes and flower sprays divided by peony-heads reserved alternately on a pink trellis-pattern ground and a blue Y-pattern ground, the exterior applied with two gilt Buddhistic-lion masks suspending loose rings and enamelled on both sides with a pair of peacocks perched on rockwork amidst large peony blooms and flowering branches of magnolia and prunus, between the waisted foot and neck embellished with various floral and geometric bands and motifs, one handle restored
