AN IVORY CARVED 'DRAGON' SEAL
19th century
The upper half of the tall rectangular seal intricately carved in relief at the top with a sinuous horned dragon with its large maned and whiskered head full-face above a flaming pearl, and the sides each with a pair of smaller dragons contesting a flaming pearl, all amidst and reserved on a ground of cloud scrolls and wisps of vapour, the lower half of the seal undecorated, the base with the four character chop, some minute chips and age hair-cracks
