AN UNUSUAL GILT-BRONZE 'DRAGON' STAND
probably 18th century
Cast as two sinuous five-clawed dragons entwined in mutual pursuit with tails wrapped around shoulders and each holding aloft a stylised pearl in its right fore-claw, their horned heads with mouths open below the bulging eyes and long curling moustaches above the flowing manes and scaly bodies embellished with fire-scrolls, one moustache re-attached
