Proof 1840 2d. blue, plate 1, a single lettered FH, in a superb rich deep shade, margins all round, affixed to piece of wove paper and tied by superb clear strike of the red Maltese Cross, a ghost shadow of another impression of the Cross alongside shows that another adhesive was originally placed there and was presumably used in an attempt to remove the cancellation, the piece also shows faint off-set of both Crosses where the piece was folded over immediately after cancellation.
