1907 Sri Pashupati Issue The following section of essays, proofs and sheets are all from Perkins, Bacon & Co. archive, which during the blitz on London during the Second World War sustained major damage. Because of this, some are affected by water staining or rust marks where the metal paper clips were used to attach some of the larger pieces into the record books. A number of the items are unique and form a tremendously complete record of the genesis of this popular issue. Essays
essay The original artists drawings Sri Pashupati in the Himalayas, executed in magenta on thin card (18x8mm.), and used as the accepted design for the vignette of the four issued values, and Siva above a Palace flanked by Temples complete essay (issued stamp size) on thick wove paper (85x66mm.) in a similar colour showing the unaccepted centre vignette design. When the two drawings are combined, they form the completed design accepted for the 1907 issue. Unique. Photo
